Careless Cherries
This room’s door to the east is ash.
The doorknob is silver plated – and locked.
This room’s door to the west is ash.
The doorknob is silver plated – and locked.
Both
doors have “Do Not Touch The Cherries” printed upon them in
blood-red ink.
In the room is a small marble plinth –
upon which eight brilliant red cherries the size of apples sit,
impossibly balanced.
There
are 4 single cherries in the middle – and two pairs of cherries
dangling off the ends.
They are made of solid iron – with iron
stems – and are painted red and green.
If one is touched: Roll 1D8 and consult the table below -
1 – With a loud clang the cherry or cherries spring to life and begin to vibrate – in 12 seconds a duplicate of the touched cherry or cherries will fly off in a random direction – Treat this as firing into melee – and if someone is hit by a cherry it counts as a touch.
2 – The cherry or cherries suddenly glow red hot – dealing 1D4 -2 contact damage. They will remain red hot for 1 hour.
3 – The cherry or cherries are irresistible, and the toucher must make a save vs magic or attempt to eat them. All of them.
4 – The cherry or cherries stem is very easy to remove, and touching it has knocked the stem free – it will explode like a grenade in 1D4-1 segments.
5 – With a loud crack – the cherry or cherries split open – releasing a 1d4 HD Summon result.
6 – The cherry or cherries are irresistibly smooth, and the toucher must make a save vs magic or attempt to touch them. All of them.
7 – The cherry or cherries suddenly descend to subzero temps– dealing 1D4 -2 contact damage. They will remain freezing cold for 1 hour.
8 – With a loud clang the cherry or cherries spring to life and begin to vibrate – in 12 seconds a duplicate of the touched cherry or cherries will fly off in a random direction – Treat this as firing into melee – and if someone is hit by a cherry it counts as a touch.
The room is roughly 15X15 feet, each hallways/passage in and out is around 5 feet wide.
