Cascade

Cascade by Lusine    The VaM-style spell today is Cascade - the title coming from this  song  by Lusine (ICL at the time). I love love love Lusine's music - Iron city is calming, condensed is like concentrated cyberpunk walking through megacities, Serial Hodgepodge sounds like museums and walking paths and lots of other things, Language Barrier is just so beautiful and otherworldly, A Certain Distance is likely one of my favorite albums of all time - I listen to it all the time, Lucky Numbers is dance-y, The Waiting room is a wonderful combination of all he previous albums, And Sensorimotor sounds like the future. You can expect more Lusine songs as spells, I love his music so much - especially when his wife does the singing! Today I am doing a song from Condensed - mysterious, dense, patterns and chirps and what I would typify as sinister elevator music. Cascade is one of my favorites on the album - and always reminds me of unintended consequences... Here are some definitions t

Resynthesis by Max Cooper!  The VaM-style spell today is Resynthesis - the title coming from this  song  by Max Cooper! I have a very deep and abiding connection with long exposure photography - it has shaped quite a bit about my self-image - so naturally I LOVE the music video for Resynthesis - it is  beautiful. Kevin McGloughlin made the video - there is a lot of information in the description of the video - PLEASE GO WATCH IT!     Here is the definition of resynthesis! the act of synthesizing something again : a second or subsequent synthesis Synthesis being: the combination of ideas to form a theory or system. the process of making compound and derivative words. the use of inflected forms rather than word order to express grammatical structure. the production of chemical compounds by reaction from simpler materials. Esoteric Genitals Update

So - I have learned about new music and fallen out of enjoying other music: so I have updated and subtracted and added songs to the playlist - which is now at this playlist . It is now numbered 160, and as I find more songs that I like or think would be excellent spells, I might add some, but these are all set in stone, with 40 something of them already having been made as spells. So far I have made the following spells: Vyzee , A spell that converts the caster into a slime - Whiteout ,  Whips a blizzard around the caster that increases size each turn for the duration - Komminezuspadt , Which turns the caster into the White Rabbit -  Honey , Long-range metal detector for anything -  Rage ,  Induces a powerful and mechanically interesting rage - Black Tambourine , A forbidden ritual that suppresses clerics, doubles damage, disadvantages foes, skews initative, and permanently kills: it is also highly taboo -  Teleblister , Creates an ever-growing sphere of hot air -  Mine , The caster s

What is the Hypogeal Enigma?

Image
So I thought I should make a post to contextualize the Hypogeal Enigma - The megadungeon I've been working on- here's the gist:  A w izard has a wife. Wife is dying. Wizard goes slowly nuts. Goes and retrieves locket of hair from when they first met. Uses in many attempts to make a simulacrum or clone. Builds immensely complex interior structure to attempt to make/create his wife from a cloned younger woman the same as she once was. Is pretty much impossible, and she died or dies to the same illness repeatedly, finds out her true nature, and/or goes different paths and becomes a different woman. She always dies of cancer - cancer that the wizard causes and is immune to due to his magical-ness. Wizard leaves or dies or stalks the dungeon as a lich - haven't decided yet. Structure is filled with life support for retainers, friends, jailed enemies, the wizard, his family, wildlife, ETC , so an ecosystem forms there - in the broken ruins. There's a sun on a path - many magi
