Blown Blooms
Blown Blooms by Lauren Bousfield!
The VaM-style spell today is Blown Blooms - the title coming from this song by Lauren Bousfield!
Here is Lauren's wonderful bandcamp!
Lauren - I think it might never reach you, but thanks
I can distinctly recall listening to this music - all your music really - and kinda thinking "how and why does this feel correct - why does this music speak to me?"
There is something wild in the titles - there is something extremely special with the way you use modular synths - there is an element of complete chaos stamped down after spiraling out of control - like skateboarding.
There is an element of feeding into itself - an electronic looping backslide into a uncontrolled elevator - it sounds like crocodiles doing mathematics, savage and calculating and alien - yet so primal and insistent.
Contrasting this raw energy is always the ethereal - like threadbare clothes found in a river, like pepto bismol spilled in a hotel lobby, like sheer fabric holding pears.
It is delicate and there is so much attention to the little things - as statements slide in and out of focus.
I will reiterate - I Love Your Music
It speaks to me, and it spoke to me before I even knew what it was saying
You are one of the most important musical things in my life - so thanks Lauren, if you're reading.

B L O W N B L O O M S
Duration: Until Expended
Range: Blooms grow in n a 5 foot radius around caster’s feet - Blown petal range is how far the petals travel +3 feet extra per caster level
This
spell transforms the surfaces of anything inside the range – as
wondrous flowers bloom from the various surfaces.
Roll 1D12 to
see what kind of flowers claim purchase.
There will be caster
level + 3 flowers that grow.
------------- If the blooms are held in the hand and
blown--------------
1
– Rose – living things in the direction of the blowing get thorns
shot at them, treat this as a ranged attack, and if the thorns
collide with someone, they are enamored with the blower.
2 – Sunflower - beams of sunlight fall and dance upon the petals, anything the petals touch is bathed in sunlight and is set aflame, if inflammable.
3 – Hydrangea – drops of rain splash and pelt the petals, anything the petals touch is doused in water.
4 – Lavender – any living thing save the caster which is touched by these petals falls into a deep and dreamless sleep – which will cease when roused by daylight.
5 – Peony – anything save the caster touched by those petals will become cursed by fey, who will attempt to take whatever was touched to their great and vast palaces.
6 – Daisy – the petals of this flower kill anything living they touch that is younger than the caster.
7 – Orchid – creeping vines surround and entrap as if by the spell Web, this happens to anything the petal touches that is smaller than the caster.
8 – Tulip – the petals of this bloom are as thrown daggers, and any damage dealt is bleeding damage that is dealt one turn at a time, one point at a time.
9 – Lily – any petals ingested immediately force the ingester to reincarnate on the spot.
10 – Chrysanthemum- anybody save the caster who is touched by the petals is put into a depressive grieving – rendering them effectively helpless unless they make a save vs paralysis – which they get when first affected, and before attempting to do any action.
11 – Dahlia – anywhere these petals touch sprouts more Blown Blooms- one bloom per petal, each a different type.
12 – Daffodil – anything living touched by the petals must make a save vs poison – if they fail – they are sent forward in time, to where they are, at the next dawn.
