The Bottom

The Bottom by Tomáš Dvořák AKA Floex!

The VaM-style spell today is The Bottom- the title coming from this song by Tomáš Dvořák!

I love Machinarium - it is in my top ten games - and I have listened to my family's burned CD of the soundtrack ever since we played the game, when we got it in a humble bundle.

The game is beautiful and striking and well executed and one of the best pieces of media ever - and the music has a lot of what makes the game have it's own atmosphere.

Ok - here is the spell's effects!

The Bottom

Duration: 1 Turn per caster level

Range: Caster

The caster increases their wisdom by one for each fifty meters below ground level they are. This lasts one turn per caster level.

Miscast Table

(If they miscast, pick the result that is equal to the bonus they would have received – if greater than 12, roll twice.)

1 – The caster gains darkvision – but is blind in normal sunlight.

2 – The caster grows suction cups and mucus dispensers on their hands – they now have 6/6 climb but feel repulsive when they touch anybody, and they have a really hard time letting go of objects.

3 – The caster’s entire body shrinks and thins, -1 Constitution and -1 Strength – but they are now better at squeezing through gaps and may dodge an attack twice a day.

4 – The caster loses all hair and their teeth lengthen an inch.

5 – The caster is now carnivorous, and only eats meat raw.

6 – The caster grows pale and tumorous, +1 Constitution and -2 Charisma.

7 – The caster has some dark realization that acts like a grain of sand in the oyster that is their brain – the pearl is madness, which is up to the referee to concoct.

8 – The caster molts their skin, and are now scaly and green. -3 Charisma and oh man, people scream when they see you.

9 – The caster’s head implodes, and blood and bone fly like shrapnel from a grenade as their head’s contents exit the vacuum. They do not die however. They are just nearly unthinking – and are at best of animal intelligence.

10 – The caster may now only eat metal, which their teeth, saliva, and tongue cause to rust and disintegrate – they eat the rust.

11 – The caster may now eats only green slime.

12 – Roll three times. If all results are rolled, the caster just transforms into a hideous cave centipede thing.
