There
is an ancient wellspring of energy – it sits just out of reach –
but it may be drawn upon if one knows how to direct it.
This
spell channels this energy in one of the following ways:
#1:
Dance – The caster conjures forth movement – they may dance, and
while dancing they increase their Armor by one per caster level.
#2:
Song – The caster pulls out music – the kind of music that calls
and receives voices: If they sing and others sing with them, then all
processes or actions taken by the singers are at advantage. Farmers,
Miners, Slaves, Laborers, Soldiers, Workers, Travelers, and many more
can attest to the power of song on their energy.
#3:
Recovery – The caster finds vitality and applies it – healing
themselves to their maximum hit points instantaneously after
concentrating for one round per each two hit points healed.
#4:
Invention – The caster may Jerry-rig 2-10 objects into an
“invention” – it takes one segment per object and this happens
during other actions if cast during combat.
#5:
Recuperate – The caster draws energy out of the well, and instantly
removes any negative effects of sleep deprivation for 24 hours.
Concentration
is lost upon taking damage or
taking any strenuous action.
Miscast Table
1 – The caster has
to dance – and it decreases their AC by one per caster level and
lasts one round per caster level.
2 – The caster
has to sing – and it works as normal but induces a random encounter
roll.
3 – The caster
has to recover – and it works as normal save one detail – it also
paralyzes the caster while they are healing, and lasts one round per
hit point recovered.
4 – The invention
goes haywire and has
unintended consequences – these are determined by the referee on a
case-by-case basis dependent on what the
invention was trying to
be.
5 – Woah! The
caster drew way too much energy out of the well – and now cannot
sleep for 10 days, and takes the effects of sleep deprivation each 24
hours with no exceptions.
6 – The caster
tries to dance and invent –
and they must include two articles of their own clothing in the
invention. Only one effect
works – either they
increase their armor class and the invention is non-functional – or
they build the invention and their armor class is lowered instead of
getting increased.
7 – The caster
has to sing – and the song works as normal for anyone chiming in –
but instead of being at advantage while singing, the caster is at
disadvantage.
8 – Something
from the well escapes – gating inside the caster’s brain and
exploding their head.
It will be a being
of pure unadulterated energy. Threat this as a casting of Summon –
with form automatically as
result 13 -19 and then 7 – Pure Energy.
9 – The caster
distills all their energy into this spell for a brief moment – and
so the spell functions as normal – but if they lose concentration
by taking damage – they will have all their energy knocked out and
around – reducing them to unconsciousness for the next 1D12 days.
10 – The energy
is electrical – add 1D4 damage to any damage dealt to or by the
caster – and damage does not break concentration.
11 – The energy
is geothermic – The caster steams and radiates heat – people need
to be at least 30’ away or be burned – and any possessions not
removed as the first action taken after the spell is cast will be
melted and slough off as the spell continues to function.
12 – The caster
attempts all five effects, the result being a caster that is singing,
dancing, recovering, inventing, and recuperating – none of the
effects function as normal – and they will be trying to do all this
for N rounds, where N is the casters level + 4.
