Room 19

19- Dead Elf Pool

This room has a well oiled iron door, no lock, only a doorknob.

This room is filled with tiles except for a small pool of water on one end. Hanging in the center of the room is a floating stone bowl containing a tiny sun, which casts brilliant light over the blue and white tiles, as light and water cast thin lines and waves of light over the room.

In the grouting, between the tiles, soil has been aggregated, and small plants reach for the sun – and the sun creates condensation and evaporation from the pool, which waters the plants.

Mice eat the plants, and the cycle continues, with mouse bones crushed underfoot by things coming to drink from the pool, which is slowly fed by and underground spring, and excess is routed into offpipes.

In the 12’ deep pool of water, at the bottom, is a long dead elf – somehow preserved by magical means.

They have a 12’ hank of triple strength rope, leather armor decorated by plants and leaves, a beautiful longsword with “Daylily Crusher” inscribed in magical runes (Ensigil), a belt with three small bottles attached, a green one contains potion of cure light wounds, three mouthfuls (small people 1 mouthful, medium people two, and large all three for correct dose) – A red one that functions as Enlarge, as magic user level 6, same amount of doses – and a blue one that functions as Forget, four doses, they have a diadem with emeralds, three rings – two nonmagical – one has a random first level spell embedded in the gem – which is casts once crushed -roll this when the ring is found and note it, a backpack containing a broken lantern – an empty tinderbox – an empty flask that used to have oil – three empty potion bottles – some dominoes – several bundled plants and herbs from the Underground Sun Garden – and Referee ~ anything else you think would fit.

The magic that is preventing the elements affecting the body and their possessions is around their neck, a small lead talisman that prevents decay of person and possessions – if and when it is taken, make the body decay in spectacular and excruciating detail, this tests morale on retainers. All the objects that can and would will also corrode and decay, but are usable as long as the talisman remains on that body.

The room is roughly 18X23 feet, each hallways/passage in and out is around 5 feet wide. The pool is roughly 8X6 feet wide and long.
