Listening Wind
Listening Wind by Talking Heads!
The VaM-style spell today is Listening Wind- the title coming from this song by Talking Heads!
My parents love Talking Heads - I love Talking Heads.
This album is extremely good, and all the tracks could be spells:
Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On), Crosseyed and Painless, The Great Curve, Once in a Lifetime, Houses in Motion, Seen and Not Seen, and The Overload.
There is an intangible wonder present in the talking heads - there are choices with instrumentation and words and presentation that cannot be rivaled - and I highly recommend all of their music.

Listening Wind
Duration: Chosen by caster
Range: The Wind
The caster whispers and talks to the wind – and the wind listens.
The caster cups and caresses the winds – and the winds supplant the caster’s senses – they see and hear and smell and touch and taste as the wind does.
They stand rigid, eyes unmoving – and their senses billow out in a great invisible mass.
The caster cannot move, and on casting the spell they choose a number of rounds, this is how long they grant all of their senses to the wind.
They can travel at whatever speed the winds in the area move at, they may move as air, and observe, taste, smell, touch, and hear as if they are the wind.
Miscast Table
1 – Their senses remain in the wind, and blow away – the caster is now a vegetable.
2 – The sensation is overwhelming, and while they do experience the spell, they do not recall anything from the duration of the spell, it was simply too encompassingly vast and complex.
3 – Each round the caster’s senses are in the wind, they must save vs magic to not be brought back to their body.
4 – The caster can feel each thing slicing and shifting them – it is extremely painful and violating – when they return to their body they will immediately adopt the fetal position and be functionally useless for an hour, as they whimper and sweat.
5 – The caster does not choose where they move – they are pulled along with the wind wherever it goes.
6 – The caster’s body is teleported to wherever they are last as wind when the spell’s duration is over.
7 – The sensation is so alien that the caster’s experiences are somewhat challenging to interpret what the caster actually saw, and what was just non-understandable – so the referee should tell them things that are confusing or not real when they are wind.
8 – The spell is reversed, and all of the wind enters the caster’s body – exploding them.
9 – The duration is tripled.
10 – The caster must save vs magic to return to their body after the spell’s duration is finished, if they fail the spell continues for double the previous duration, this continues until they return to their body. I hope your party members know how to care for a person who must be fed, watered, changed, and helped to breathe and move.
11 – The spell happens as normal except the body dies, and the transformation is permanent – one additional factor is that the caster may communicate with musical instruments that function due to wind being blown through them, and has innate knowledge of how to build a body they (the wind) could inhabit.
12 – The caster accidentally leaves one of their 5 senses in the wind when they return to their body, they are now deaf, blind, has hypoesthesia, has ageusia, or has anosmia.
