Cavern 29

Cavern 29 This cavern is a single passage up that curves and dead ends. it is 456 ft of vertical height. I flipped it and added a place where a BODY is. So here's a I search the body table.                        I SEARCH THE BODY (Roll 1d100)                          30 ft of rope Braille Roller a geode dried mushroom planks (1d8) large black dried bug sharpened stalactite chunk of sulfur Large Brown Mottled Fruit, Inside is blue and chalky W/seeds Cherry meth in glass phials (1d4 strong doses) Pouch of Brass Nails (1d20) metal tin of Spores Dwarven grenade 15 feet of rope Sewing Kit, FishGut Thread, Fishbone needle, Fishbone thimble, Fishbone awl and shears Nipple, penis, clitoris, Finger, Ear, Toe, and Nose Extenders made of painted human bone with leather Fasten...

Cavern 28

Cavern 28 This single shaft in dead end cavern is pretty boring. however, due to the 3 or 4 small chambers a lot could be placed in it, but as for structure one entrance limits the use of this cave. It comes in at 167 feet of vertical height. In this edit I flipped it, added a fast stone texture, added three mushroom patches, and their mycellium networks. Source of food, source of poison, source of Myco people, or cultivators. Spores and soil, decaying bodies and dry stalks. Hallucinogens or dew, strings and birthings, dust and crumbling stone. Networks and veins, living on the dead.

Cavern 27

Cavern 27 This cavern is 470 feet, and is a large chamber at the very top and tapering down a few passages down until the end goes out in a single passage. There is some sectioning in the middle, with passages in and out and around, but overall this cave is straightforward. In the edit I added some kinda animal den, or a warrens for a less civilized species or group of animals. Up to you to figure out a good fit. I also added one small figure for scale.

Cavern 26

Cavern 26 Top of a cavern or a dead end, with two passages ascending up into the network of passages and a large chamber above. There are two shafts down to the sides that dead end, and several up-shafts that curve back or out. There is a up-shaft that terminates in a dead end medium sized chamber. this cavern might be a good candidate for breakdowns? Dunno, there could also be a lot of sumps if this was flipped, and some of the the areas would maybe have mud or rubble... Vertical height is a cool cool 541 ft of stone, and in the edit, perhaps some lush greenery... In this edit I added a sun. Just a small one. I bet plants that grow in the underdark are very special, very unusual, and maybe even only available in this cavern or transplanted from this cavern, as they would have to evolve here or be transported to this place and it's unique lighting conditions. What if the sun moves?

Cavern 25

Cavern 25 Two shafts down and two small and one large shaft down. this cave is another great connector of caves, but the main shaft through the mid-section is more spacious that some, and the selves could be a stable place to rest, as anything coming or going would most likely pass through. It is 584 vertical feet however, so caution must be a focus. This edit seeks to out-do the HORRIBLE textures on most cave maps for RPG games. I hate textures that repeat, look dissimelar to underground stone or deeper stone, and just plain look like rock that would not be compositionally correct for a real cavern. Not that I am qualified to determine these things, but you know... Anyways, I like this look and am going to continue to work on figuring out the best look for the caves other than black and white, although for ease of use I think the starkness of those may be the best method for actual play.

Cavern 24

Cavern 24 Only one chamber, and a lot of tall and curved passages. A strangely shaped cavern, and one with seemingly one shaft out. A very tall vertical cavern, this one clocks in at 2166 ft of vertical height. Truly a dizzying climb, and one that would take a lot of time and effort. I added a PRISON. It has a area for guards and their daily livings, cells for prisoners, a oubliette, and of course the cavern is not hospitable to visitors or escapees. How supplies arrive, how prisoners arrive, how guards are paid, how long and why prisoners are kept, what is eaten, what is the daily schedule? All these are great questions and there are many more pertinent ones. If anyone wants followup, ask in comments and I can write some of my thoughts on what an underground prison might look like and function like, and maybe edit the map further in addition. Thanks!

Cavern 23

Cavern 23 This cavern has two chambers, and is largely composed of passages. The top opening is very large, and the one passage down is a very small passage. It is very tall vertically, coming in at 438 ft of vertical height. This edit simply makes the squeezes MUCH worse.

Cavern 22

Cavern 22 This cavern is pretty much all passages, with two small shafts into semi-chambers from the top and two small shafts leading out at the bottom. there is a small side  shaft that deadends up and down to the right, and lots of to and fro in the main passages connections.it is about 111 ft of vertical height. The edit adds a gigantic catacomb, a structure for the burying of dead, or a religious underground structure. It adds significantly to the size, and adds to its vertical height. it is 184 ft of vertical height, and the catacombs have many long falls. The figure is from http://www.publicdomainfiles.com/show_file.php?id=13933609816192, thanks to Merlin2525! If anyone is interested, I can make a separate post or edit to include some stats and things to put in the catacomb for LOTFP, as currently that is up to you, but I have ideas. Thanks!

Cavern 21

Cavern 21 This cave has one large chamber and passages that branch off it to the right and up and down. three entrances and one exit mean this cave is also narrow and could be a choke point in a conflict. If there is water or peoples, they are all gonna go through one narrow passage. It is 369 feet of vertical height. This edit adds more textured/unusual stone formations. To hide rats, bugs, fungus, lichens, moss, snakes, treasure, ropes, handholds, bones, pitons and other climbing gear...

Cavern 20!

Image
Cavern 20 Two or three chambers connected by a single long shafts and off-shafts are what characterize many caverns, but this one has some interesting passageways to the left, and the singled out shafts like the one on the top left and the smaller on on the right make this slightly interesting. This could be a simple vertical abseil down, but investigating the cavern/mapping it out could be more complex, and this would make it a great middle cavern, or a cavern between larger chambers. It is 660 ft in vertical height. The edit changes the surrounding stone, and fills the actual cavern with coal. A gigantic coal vein, and a tunneled burrow between the chalky, squeaky, sooty, and cloying coal-vein.  What creature would tunnel/burrow through coal? If the players go through they may find out, and in the process they will get covered in coal dust. Face masks may be important to not get a temporary cough. Also any flame is INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. if this were to be set alight, everyt...
