Cavern 13

Image
Cavern 13 A complex and interconnected cavern, filled with upward shafts connecting small chambers. This cavern has many entrances/exits, and could be a good intercessor between more furnished cavern sections. it would not hold water, and could be tough to traverse. I hold it at about 105 ft vertical distance.   Here is an edit with 7 ft skeletons lounging and climbing around. Skeleton used is public domain art from: http://www.publicdomainfiles.com/show_file.php?id=13960557618520 Thanks johnny_automatic!

Cavern 12

Image
Cavern 12 This cavern has three downward shafts, and is only about 95ft vertical drop. There are many chambers and a couple passages between them, and only one upward dead end. This could serve as the top end of a series of caverns, or if flipped could be a good bottoming out point. This edit adds stone walls and a clear entrance at the top where the small dead end used to be. This could be an excellent entrance or exit to a cavern system, and has two spelunkers for scale, one with a small torch, and the other clambering up into the entrance via rope.

Cavern 11

Image
Cavern 11 This cavern has tons of chambers and passages, and should be a t least 400 ft of vertical height for maximum explorability. There are some very tight squeezes, and one in particular holds a large quantity of the cave behind it. This edit INVERTS the negative black space and solid white space and creates a completely different cave structure. There are passages added to facilitate players/explores to reach all parts of this cave, which must have two very large chambers to the right and left...

Cavern 10

Cavern 10 This cavern is very unusual, with a sinuous series of passages. The vertical height would be interesting at more than 300 ft, but measuring this one is pretty complex, an if we assume the passage to be about 3ft wide, the cavern's total vertical height measures out at 159 ft. Perhaps this is volcanic tunnels? This has been edited for clarity, and has a background added. This version is not a cavern, but rather a rather heinous pitch to be climbed.  In lieu of one climbing roll as per usual, this pitch has rules attached. It has a scale and the clear route is in red. Crossing black makes the climber make two checks, and changing direction at any X requires a roll. All this atop the normal roll for a straight path. It is suggested that resting points or treasure be placed in the downturn dead ends, to make a reason for he player to investigate/create camps partway through the climb, or perhaps pull someone else to start at an easier point of the climb.

Cavern 9

Image
Cavern 9 This cavern is mostly one large chamber, with a couple small passages and one smaller chamber tenuously connected at the base. There are many entrances/exits, and this cave clocks in at 195 feet vertical height in the main chamber, and by extension the whole cave. This cavern edit has a C R E A T U R E ! Its stats are as follows. Onion Manticore   Stats HD 7, 5, 3, 2 HP 25, 17, 10, 3 Speed 110’ Climbing 50'   Armor 13, 14, 15, 16 Morale 10, 9, 8, 7 Attack : +2 Attack 1d6/1d6/1d12 Claw/Claw/Bite Special:    Each time the amount of current Hp goes to zero or negative, the Onion Manticore sheds its outer skin and now has the next amount of Hp listed. This also applies for its HD, Armor, and Morale This also counts for Exp, each skin counts a defeating a creature of that HD. Syn-Propanethial-S-oxide: When Onion Manticores take damage, they release a gas that induces crying to those within 30 ft. Those affected may save against poi...

Cavern 8

Cavern 8 A very complex cave, with some very interesting turns and switchback sections at the top. wither two entrances and or exits define this cavern, which wouldn't hold much water and is most likely the middle of a cave network, and some of the unusual formations are fairly hard to navigate vertically. I would estimate this cavern to be pretty usable/navigable at 250 ft vertical height, but if it is a part of other caverns as a connecting passage this size might need adjusting. This edit is unusual, and is simply a very different and alien formation in the center of the cave, a formation that appears quite unnatural. Given, some caves appear so alien and strange to surface dwellers, something like this could occur perhaps, but the likelihood must be very small. Anyways, this cavern now has a very unusual section in the middle, and is smoothed further and given a background color to bring out its feature's better. Thanks!

Cavern 7

Image
Cavern 7 This cave could easily be connected to a system of caves, and is a fun combination of upward facing shafts and interesting chambers. I figure the entrance to be the lower right shaft, but many could be added by simple editing. The cave itself couldn't be more than like 200 ft of vertical height, but would still be a tough climb due to the way the chambers are spaced. The edited version has parts cut out and has Dwarven Mineshafts added. This map could work birds eye or vertical, and I prefer vertical, but let me know what you make of it. Most of the mineshafts are placed because of ore vein following, but maybe more or less should be included.

Cavern 6

Image
Cavern 6  This cavern is no more than 100 feet, and is a shaft leading down into a grouping of three or four rooms. The shaft is obviously of humanoid manufacture, and the cave terminates rather quickly.   The edited version is flipped and has ladders and scaffolding added, alongside some more precarious ropes. After traversing the shaft entrance via stairs and ascending ladders and clambering up ropes, at the top of this cavern is a entrance into something. Perhaps a temple? A Dungeon? Maybe this is the secret entrance/exit to a castle or cliffside fortress? That's up to you I guess.

Cavern 5

Image
Cavern 5 Things are starting to get more complex. this cave is most logically a 150-200 ft cavern in total vertical height. This cave seems simple, but that means I wanted to do something more interesting when editing it. This cave is two entrance shafts down, and the right shaft splits into two. The right terminated in a small chamber, and the left pitch terminates in a small chamber connected directly with a larger open area. There are a few additional passages and two final shafts down, with the left one simply becoming a teardrop shaped cavern. The map necessitates a bit of cleanup, as the patchy sections interrupt several shafts, but perhaps that could be realistically formed air pockets trapped after cave ins? In any case, simple cavern. Here is the edited one. I smoothed things over to make the squeezes more noticeable, and extended patchy sections to connect all the cavern together. I also added a large section of passages, and if we assume the passage height to be 5 ft, t...

Cavern 4

Image
Cavern 4 This one is very low in passage count, and is mostly one or two large chambers. the total vertical height is 283 ft, and with only one entrance, this area has not been utilized for any kind of industry, but could make a good living space for a self sustained or magically supplied faction. It is assumed the entrance is only three feet high, which necessitates crawling. This version has a clearly labeled entrance and has been smoothed. Assume lighter areas are ore deposits or rougher walls perhaps? This could function as a excellent mine with more tunnels to and from, so feel free to edit the image to include such features.
